Andrew started his professional career with Comalco/CRA (bauxite, alumina, aluminium and electricity) in the Corporate Finance department before moving to Australian Resources Development Bank where he worked in the project finance department with specific exposure to the development Cooper Basin Liquids scheme with Santos, Vamgas and other joint venturers. In 1983 Andrew moved to Hong Kong and started the project finance department for Indosuez Asia and worked on transactions in Asia for BHP Engineering Services, Crusader Oil, the Cross Harbour Tunnel Co and for a number of French Companies. During this time he also spent considerable time working transactions in Europe, China and the United States in the oil and gas sector, ammonium nitrate plants and oil. Upon returning to Australia, Andrew was appointed as a Director of Westpac Project and Advisory Services where he lead teams in the structured finance sector, privatisation of Victoria’s electricity sector and also the corporatisation and privatisation of New Zealand’s electricity sector. Subsequently, Andrew moved into the advisory and equities area where he undertook assignments in the gas, infrastructure and fertiliser sectors.
