GPS Sports provides wireless technology which monitors the performance of elite sportsmen and women in outdoor sports, providing data on distance, heart rate and other vital signs in real time.
The company’s products are used by 13 of the 16 AFL clubs, in Rugby Union by the All Blacks, Wallabies, Crusaders, Auckland Blues and England and by a growing number of English Premier and European football teams, including Chelsea and Aston Villa.
GPS Sports now has fourteen staff and has recently customized its technology for the racing industry, which offers further significant growth opportunities. |

Locata has developed new radio-location technology which provides highly precise positioning in areas (such as urban canyons) where GPS cannot, either because of the weakness of the GPS signal or an inability to “see” a sufficient number of satellites in the GPS constellation.
The technology has been granted 32 patents to date, with many more pending and has been validated by industry through partnership agreements with Leica Geosystems, for the open cast mining sector, and the Trimble/Caterpillar joint venture for the construction industry.
The technology is also deployed by the US Air Force’s 746th Test Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base, the pre-eminent GPS test group for the US military. |

Simmersion has developed software that can provide highly accurate and 3D simulation models of unlimited scope and scale with widespread application across a number of market segments including urban planning, military simulation and entertainment.
Simmersion has gained initial commercial success, penetrating the Urban Planning sector in the provision of 3D simulation products and services via its Simurban software suite which includes introduced its “Simulated City” business concept, which is able to deliver real-time 3D simulation models of major cities and urban areas across the world.
Following this success, Simmersion has raised A$2m of additional capital from leading global high-tech investors to launch a new virtual worlds social network and technology platform, Mycosm. Mycosm allows anyone to create their own unique 3D world for free by using intuitive tools and importing high quality 3D content. The worlds can be shared online to play games, share media, make money and socialize with friends. |

Windlab Systems was formed to commercialise a suite of modelling tools that had been developed by the Wind Energy Research Unit of CSIRO to predict wind flow over topography, and for regional wind mapping.
The Company is generally recognised as being a world-leader in the development and application of atmospheric modelling systems used to locate and develop wind energy sites. A joint venture agreement with Investec has resulted in a number of successful projects in Australasia and South Africa.
